Review: Blissfields pt 3 – A view from a 9 year old

Our second alternative review on Blissfields Festival comes from nine year old, Megan:

"I arrived on the Friday afternoon and dumped my stuff in my tent. I unpacked my bag, then went down to the main stage and had a little look about.  Then I went to my tent to meet my friend Rhyannon.  I got some money from my mum and went off to the shops.  Some of the shops I remembered from last year, but there were some new ones too.  There was a kids tent where I made a badge and had a festival makeover, I got my nails done and  face painted.  There were also jewellery stalls, toy stalls and lots more. The best stall, in my opinion, was the face painting stall as I loved the designs they had.

Later, we headed backstage to meet a band called The Dub Pistols and one of them drew us a remarkable picture.  After that, we went to watch them play for a bit - everybody was dancing and they were pretty good.  Next, we went to The Bubble Bus to see my friends dad DJing and we all had a boogie.  When Hannah was DJing, we went up to the top of the bus and there was a jacuzzi. We could see the whole of the festival from up there and everybody was dancing outside the bus. Then it was time for bed.  It was really noisy, that was Blissfields only problem, but eventually we fell asleep.

The next morning, after a bacon butty that Erin made for us, me and  Rhyannon went to The Hidden Hedge to play on the tyre swing. I then found my mummy and we watched some bands in the second stage.  I think one of them was called Montage Populaire who were quite good but we found out that the Tractor Rides were open so me and Rhyannon went there and we were the first people on. We went right up to the top of a big hill and past the crops.  Blissfields looked tiny from where we were.   We went up and down twice! People started to throw water bombs at us so when we got off the tractor we went to find some in the shops and got them back, but we got soaked and had to go and get changed.

Here is another picture that Dennis from Imperial Leisure drew us:

In the evening we went to the Hidden Hedge.  All the lights were on and the leaves on the trees and bushes were illuminated. It looked beautiful. Everybody had glow sticks on, so we got some too.  We had some Heavenly Nachos for dinner then I went and got dressed up in illuminous 80's clothes. We had a boogie to Stereo MC's but then I had to go back to the tent as I was very tired and needed to sleep.  In the morning I quickly got up and went out to get some pressies for my friends.  It was still early and we went past The Hidden Hedge and there were still people there dancing from the night before.  After we had an orange juice we went back to the tent and everybody was awake - so we had to go home.

We had a brilliant time, I always felt safe at Blissfields and could always find my mummy if I ran out of money or wanted some food.  I can't wait to come back next year".
