Oxjam Southampton All-Dayer line up announced

As part of The Weekender, Guava this Saturday plays host to an Oxjam All-dayer, featuring some of the cream of local talent – and a couple of special London acts thrown in for good measure too. At just £4 for 12 acts over the whole day, it’s a real bargain.

Here are some to look out for – although every band over the whole day is well worth seeing!

Stone Them Crows will deservedly playing their first headline performance, after tearing up various festivals over the summer. Since forming just under a year ago, they’ve quickly gained a reputation as one of the best live bands on the circuit.   Big loud noises are what they’re about, with dirty bass-lines and massive guitar riffs shaking stages between Southampton and London as well as reaching listeners in various spots around the globe.

English drunk folk singer Beans On Toast is a festival favourite, and a regular at Blissfields and Endorse It In Dorset. He is one of the hardest working acts in the country and his voice proves it. He’s playing a rare Southampton gig, and in true Beans on Toast fashion, he is not just making one appearance, but two.As well as his appearance on Saturday, he’s also playing the following day at The Hobbit, raising money for Rose Road.

LST and The ManDem has been hotly tipped locally for the last couple of years,  and 2011 has seen LST find a world-class backing band that helped them win The Road To Blissfields, Southampton heat. He has gained international recognition from his remix of The Kooks track ‘Naive’. 2011 has been a big year for LST, but 2012 promises to be even bigger. They are playing the Oxjam event at Guava on Saturday.

After the fun has finished at Guava, the party moves on to Lennons, where all Oxjam wristband holders can get in for just £2.00.  There are some pretty amazing bands playing their too – with Dirty Rouge, Bear Cavalry and Deadwax all on the bill.
