The Great Escape took place in various venues in Brighton 10th – 12th May.   Showcasing some of the best new music around, here are some photo highlights:

Bastille

Making waves at the moment are Bastille, championed by pretty much everyone I know. If you\'ve not heard them yet, you\'re missing out!! One of the most original sounds you\'ll hear at present. Photo: Rob Ball.



Grimes

Grimes is Claire Boucher, is a Candaian electronica artists with lots of interest at present. If you managed to get into this gig, you were very lucky!!! Photo: Rob Ball.



Friends

Unsigned act Friends have huge label interest at present, and Samantha Urbani is a front-woman that has the star potential of Lady Gaga written all over her. A name change could help, try a Google search without trawling through loads of links to \'that\' TV show!! Photo: Rob Ball.

Spector

Spector, fronted by Fred MacPherson (ex Les Incompetents and Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man) are sure to be one of the highlights this Festival season, a front-man that could give Jarvis Cocker a run for his money. Photo: Rob Ball.



Africa Express Sound System
