Successful Eastleigh based singer/songwriter, compere of this year’s Great Escape Festival Brighton, music podcaster and all round good egg Nick Tann is organising an exciting evening of local independent music at Winchester’s premier music venue The Attic Bar at The Railway on Saturday 13th October.
Nick Tann is the creator and host of the quietly successful “Is This Thing on Independent Music Podcast” that has been available on iTunes for the last 5 years.
A passionate supporter of independent artists, Nick says “Having worked at many venues over the years, I want to bring the best aspects to my live show and I think I have cracked it! People are getting bored with the same old thing on TV, I want to get them off the sofa and show them what a great night out is!”
“The website http://isthisthingonproductions.com/ gives full details. The show is in two halves separated by an interval. The artists play two short sets with me acting as compere.”
On the bill for this first show are:
Anja McCloskey http://anjamccloskey.co.uk/

As well as the artists there will also be a raffle consisting of items contributed by the artists and local supporters including a fake tan treatment from Eastleigh Hair Salon Russell Scotts!
Nick is also working with local restaurants with the aim of getting special deals for ticket holders. Winchester is an amazing city and he’d like to encourage visitors to spend part of the day shopping and dining before they make it to the show.
Tickets for the show are limited to 60 and are available from: http://isthisthingonproductions.com/
The Attic is an intimate all seated venue next door located at 3 Saint Paul’s Hill Winchester, Hampshire SO22 5AE.
This is the first of what Nick hopes will become a regular monthly event. Fans of the ‘Is This Thing On’ podcast will know that Nick likes to put on a great show. Future events are likely to include all kinds of performers “Poets, comedians, even burlesque artists” he says “I’m not ruling anything out at this stage.”
