Southampton’s The Brook has this week been announced as the winner of a national award for Best Venue in a glittering ceremony at the National Music Business Awards.
The award for Best Venue Teamwork – Club (cap under 800) saw The Brook and their hard-working team beat off competition from the likes of the Concorde 2 in Brighton. The team from The Brook, got to mingle with some of the countries top names from across the music industry – and they told us they’ve made a few new contacts that may see the venue attract even more big names to the city.
The WurzelsThe venue already has some huge acts booked in over the coming months (the likes of Dreadzone, Gong, The Beat and The Easy Star All Stars are just some of the big name acts set to visit), but this national recognition could signal the way for more big shows. Dylan said: “We met some agents that we have worked with for years and put faces to names, plus we spoke to many that we have wanted to work with, so we are now on their map. Hopefully some exciting shows will come from it. It was great to hob-knob with the biggies like the team from the Millennium Stadium, Bestival and The Foo Fighters.”
