Internet sensations, The Mini Band, a rock outfit whose members are all aged between 9 and 11, have been confirmed to play the Tribute To Mint gig at The Joiners on 17th November 2012. The band, who have over 20 million YouTube views, will be possibly the youngest ever band to play The Joiners. They hit the worlds media last year when a video of them playing Metallica’s Enter Sandman went global – prompting Metallica to record a personal YouTube video response, praising them.
Here is the latest video from The Mini Band:
The Tribute to Mint gig will celebrate the life of Mint Burtson. Mint was the man who was almost single-handedly responsible for turning the Joiners Arms from a back-street Southampton pub into one of the most important venues on the UK gig circuit, vital in the early careers of Radiohead, Oasis, Muse, Coldplay, The Charlatans, Supergrass, Razorlight, Carter USM, Suede and almost any important band of the last thirty years. Mint’s unerring instincts, his tolerant approach, his unselfishness and his promoting skills are remembered and appreciated by all who have visited or played at the Joiners.
