review: Hinder – Save Me

A taster for fourth album Welcome To The Freakshow, (out on December 3) Oklahoma boys Hinder deliver a sort of heavy-rock spiritual, encroaching on gospel’s territory and spitting it back out in a manner their nearest Southern Bible-basher probably wouldn’t like all that much. Saving from what or whom isn’t all that clear, though these are clearly condemned men.

But fans of anthemic singalong fists- in- the-air rock will love it, even if your vicar won’t, and pity the poor church organist who has to try and learn it………………

Save Me – Hinder

Oklahoma rockers Hinder will release their fourth full-length studio album ‘Welcome To The Freakshow’ on December 3rd via Universal Records.

The first single to be taken from this latest offering with be the anthemic, ‘Save Me’ out on the 2nd October via Universal Records.

‘Welcome To The Freakshow’ was co-produced by drummer Cody Hanson and Marshall Dutton in a hometown studio. Instead of simply sticking to a tried-and-true formula, the group decided to smash boundaries, experimenting with rock, pop, and even a little country. Welcome to the Freakshow is Hinder at their most diverse and dynamic.

“We like to think we can do anything. We don’t want to be stuck in a rut with one type of sound or formula. One song might have a country influence, while another might have a pop influence. Then, there are some heavy metal moments. We have every element covered on this record. You’ve got to do what’s best for the song.” – Cody Hanson.
