Less than a week to support Lucy Kitchen’s new album
Southampton-based indie-folk artist Lucy Kitchen recently launched a Pledge Music campaign to crowdfund her upcoming new album ‘Sun to My Moon’, due 2017. It will be her first solo release since her 2014 album Waking. The campaign is currently at 75% with 6 days left to hit her target to fund the album.
Lucy, who’s sound has been described as ‘ethereal and hypnotic’, says of the album ‘I’m going for a more expansive sound than on Waking. I’m working with Tali Trow (Coal Porters, Gemma Hayes). We’ve got electric guitar, Hammond organ and Fender Rhodes on some songs, while others will keep my stripped back acoustic sound. Within the songs themselves there’s a theme of duality, of vulnerability but strength, the light and the shade.’
A selection of pre-order options are available for the album on Lucy’s site on Pledge Music – www.pledgemusic.com/projects/
All money raised goes directly to funding the album, recording, artwork, promotion and CD pressing. The campaign is running until the 7th March.
Lucy has played the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury Festival after reaching the finals of the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition, featured on a number of tracks with Technimatic and Subzero that have received worldwide acclaim and performed live on BBC Radio 1.
