Faithless visit Southampton in May

Festival favourites Faithless have just announced they will be visiting Southampton as part of a UK tour in May that coincides with their latest album, The Dance.

With the full force of a band as hungry as when they set out fifteen years ago (before they’d racked up 10 million record sales), new album The Dance [...]

Review: Jamie T

Replace the hurtling pints with bricks and you might just have all the Energy of a Harry Brown crowd as Jamie T entertains Southampton with his boundary-pushing music. Lily Allen’s indie-rock, male counterpart pulled in an impressive crowd as he proved he knows exactly how to “get the crowd going straight away” with his catchy [...]

Review: Billy Talent

It’s not the crowd you might expect for Billy Talent tonight, their once teen-rocker following has grown up and stuck with them. Rightly so. That’s not saying they can’t still work themselves up into a sweaty mess  as soon as the Canadian punk rockers rip into ‘Devil In A Midnight Mass’, a delightful,  metal story [...]

Review: Editors, Wintersleep + Airship

Monday October 26 saw Editors perform at Southampton Guildhall. The show was sold out and not even the freezing rain could keep the excited audience away. The show began at 7.30 with support from the prog-indie outfit Airship, A tight band with a superb range of instrumentation. Both guitarists regularly changed over to keyboard or [...]

Paloma Faith Announces Southampton Show

After a teaser of headline performances in November and December 2009, and the release of her debut album “Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful?”, Paloma Faith has announced a headline tour in March 2010, and will be coming to Southampton Guildhall on March 25th.

Review: Biffy Clyro

When the first chords of Biffy Clyro’s first song rang out, I suddenly realised that I was probably the worst person to step forward and review this gig. With blistering precision and emo-showmanship, the notoriously phat and powerful three piece rattled the roof of the lofty Guildhall with a set that seemingly had everyone but [...]

Review: The Proclaimers + Miles Hunt & Erica Nockalls (Legendary in Spectacles)

“Legendary in Spectacles” – The Proclaimers, Miles & Erica @ Southampton Guildhall
Southampton Guildhall on a Saturday night…it’s been awhile…nice to see the carpet hasn’t changed over the 20 years I have either visited or performed at the venue! The bar prices have though…but I guess that’s the times we live in! £3.50 for a bottle…can [...]

Review: The Cribs + Adam Green

Adam Green ran onto the Southampton Guildhall stage dancing like a madman. Green kept up this ‘Superhans’ act throughout and sometimes even put a spot of singing into the mix as well. It was an odd sight for this half-full venue, which contained a few puzzled-looking Smiths fans (they were the ones with jumpers tied [...]

Review: Enter Shikari + The Devil Wears Prada

I walked into the Guildhall to what seemed to be the end of a DJ set.  I would have got there earlier had it not taken me twenty five minutes to find somewhere to park.  The crowd was huge, this gig had sold out a long while before and it would have been hard to [...]

mINterview: Miles Hunt

Miles Hunt & Erica Nockalls are heading to Southampton on Saturday 17th October, supporting The Proclaimers at The Guildhall.  Brett Summers spoke to Miles recently about  his project with Erica and The Wonder Stuff.

You and Erica have been working together for a number of years now both as a duo and as part of The [...]
